| 1 | Lesson 1: Getting Started
We are living in an information age and an information society where knowledge is power. We are living in age of unprecedented growth in the amount of information available to us. But the knowledge and information we have lose their power unless we know how to communicate them well. We often take communication for granted. We learn it as we learn language while we are children. As we grow, we learn new styles and modes of communication. Technology constantly offers us new tools and media for communication. As many of us have learned — often the hard way — tools, styles and media don't make for good communication. So what is good communication? How can we become better at communicating through the many tools and media available to us?
