This course is developed for owners of small businesses, all of which may have different needs. The topics are more advanced then the QuickBooks Introduction course. You will learn step-by-step, how to set-up QuickBooks Pro, track customer information that is important to you and handle all of the day-to-day accounting needs of a business. With this software you will have options to create estimates, track job costs and progress, track inventory, invoice customers, track receivables, pay bills including sales tax, handle payroll, track employees' time worked, write form letters in Microsoft Word, create reports in Microsoft Excel, and create financial statements. Students will need to have a copy of QuickBooks.

| 1 | Lesson 1: Accounting Terminology and QuickBooks Introduction
Welcome to your first lesson of this online course!
In this lesson we will be introduced to getting around within the software and some basic terminology that needs to be understood to be successful in using it.

| 2 | Lesson 2: Setting up a new company
In this lesson we will setup a new company from scratch and enter some of our most important pieces of information, our opening balances, customers, vendors and employees.
Be sure to spend time on the practice, assignment and discussion questions. These will help you think about things that you may not otherwise.
As you work through each lesson, please don't hesitate to ask me questions or start discussion threads for everyone in the class to comment on! Every business is unique and therefore has unique needs. We want to be sure to talk about anything that might benefit you.

| 3 | Lesson 3: Working with lists
You will be learning a lot in this third lesson. We will take a look at how to create customers and enter their information, create items such as inventory, subtotals, discounts, and shipping cost items. You will learn how to create a custom field for records in a list. I suspect that lessons two and three will take the longest out of all of them, but the time you spend on them will be well worth it! I hope you enjoy them!

| 4 | Lesson 4: Working with business forms
We are moving right along in learning all of the basics needed to complete the daily accounting activity for a business using QuickBooks!
In this lesson we identify various sales forms available for use and when to use them. We will then be able to bill our customers and process their payments.

| 5 | Lesson 5: Banking and billing activities
We are ready to learn how to pay bills (vendors and sales tax)! Oh, wait, that may not be much fun, but we will make this a painless as possible! We will also learn how to transfer funds between accounts, reconcile accounts, review credit card transaction tracking options and review the payroll setup process.

| 6 | Lesson 6: Working with reports, budgets. Backing up and protecting data
We are ready to begin our last lesson in this introductory course. We will explore various reports that can be generated, how to use the budget tool and what steps need to be taken to back up and protect QuickBooks data.
