Microsoft Access for Beginners

This class will give you a working knowledge of databases, what they are and how to use them. You will learn to view data in a database and change the view by sorting and filtering the data. You will create a database and learn to define forms for inputs and reports for summarizing the data. You will learn to create queries to view a subset of data in the database. You will create charts to display data and a switchboard to manage their database application. You will need a basic understanding of Windows to complete this class. You will need a copy of Office. A 30-day trial version is available.

Lesson 1: Designing a Database

We will take this first lesson to give you a little bit of background in what is a database and how one is designed. This will prepare you for the work you will be doing with Access in the coming lessons.
