| 1 | Lesson 1: Improving Tone and Contrast
In this lesson we are going to use several of the Photoshop tools with which you are probably already familiar to improve the tone and contrast of an image. We will see examples that range from recovering a faded image and saving a yellowed image to making an already good image more dramatic.
In this lesson we work with the histogram tool, levels and curves. We will also work with layer blending modes and ways we can select parts of an image to improve its overall appearance. You will see some interesting techniques that you can apply to your images as well. Keep in mind that although many of these techniques are applied to black and white images, they will still work on color images.
