This class is a continuation of the Introduction to Java class. At the end of this class, you will be able to create graphical applications and applications that read and write to files and databases, and use threads.

Lesson 1: Getting Started

In this lesson we will make sure everyone is familiar with the topics covered in the first part of the book. If you are self-taught in Java or moving from C, C++ or C# to Java this will allow you to fill in gaps in what you know.
