Flash Introduction

Flash is used to create animated content and websites. In this course you will creating an animated website as you learn the basics of creating animations, working with sound and embedding video. You will also be introduced to the basics of ActionScript.

Lesson 1: Getting Started

It seems like most of the world is not impressed unless they are greeted with a multimedia special-effects extravaganza - and this is just on web pages! When most people think of Flash they think of the splashy intros that will greet them at some web pages. The first time they visit they are held spell-bound and then after that they are annoyed - "just let me at the web site already!"

Flash does so much more now than splashy introductions. Whole websites can be created using Flash. Flash application can be built to read and write data to web sites, to take orders, to play games. In this class you will get an overview of many of the features of Flash and learn to work with its tools. You will be well on your way to creating your own splashy multimedia extravaganzas!
